Exclamation Staggerin SE-R....-_-Help-_-

I just purchased a 200sx SE-R...... I am very impressed with it... I have one small problem it has 54000 miles on the engine 98 model ser and in the lower end of the tach 1000-2500 rpm it kinda feels like it staggerin to get moving.... I think it may need plugs.. any ideas?

what do you mean by staggering. did something change all of the sudden or has it been this way since you bought it. I noticed on my se-r that the car dosn't really pick up until about 3k rpm, I think it is just the sr20de power band.

I think what you mean is that it feels like it's misfiring. I would definitely get some new NGK plugs or something and if that doesn't help, try cleaning build-up out of your throttle body.

take a look at the dist cap & rotor also if replacing the plugs doesn't do the trick.

staggering or just laggy? After each gear change if it lags it is due to carbon build up around the throttle housing preventing decent airflow. just remove anything to do with the emmission control and you'll be fine.

ok well clean the throttle housing very well all around the butterfly, and seal one of the EGR valves to stop it from working so you won't have this problem again.

I have new plugs, wires, cap and rotor and mine does it as well but only when the engine is cool. I'm blaming the AICV-Air Regulator. A lot of people have this problem and aren't sure what the cause is.

mine only staggers at idle, but does it when HOT... i've already cleaned the throttle, chnaged the fuel filter, and am going through injector and combustion chamber cleaning next. Where is the EGR valve? is that on the vacuum lines connected to the throttle?
