Question bad air temperature sensor??

So I put a Hotshot CAI on my car about a month ago, and ever since then my check engine light has been on. I ran the codes and came up with an Air Temperature Sensor problem, as well as a Knock Sensor problem. I'm guessing that somehow I messed up my air temperature sensor when I installed the CAI. I ran the sensor into a hole in the bottom of the MAF adapter, so the sensor could read the temp of the air passing through. It seems like it's hooked up so it will work, so why the check engine light? Should I have placed the sensor in a better spot? Do those sensors go bad?

Thanks for the help...

Just try to reset the ECU. It should go away and not come back.

Well, I'll try that... but I think it will definitely come back on. Ever since I put my CAI on, my car is extremely sluggish between 3000-4000 rpm. It may even be slower than it was before I put on the CAI!!! That's why I think something is wrong with the sensor. At the shop, it shows the air temperature as being something like 49 degrees. Definitely not right on a hot day.

I'll reset the ECU, but I think the sensor may still be bad... any more ideas?

Didn't the CAI have a hole where you're supposed to remount the IAT sensor? If it did and you put the sensor there I can't see why it'd be a problem, but something's not right.

Well it looks like this is working itself out on its own. The car is running much better now. I guess it just took a few days for the computer to adjust to the increased air flow through the new CAI. I still need to reset the darned computer though.

Thanks for the help...
