That's good to hear, I plan on a lot of the same mods except it'll be with an Avenir DET.

Cool, in a way I wish I would of done the DET swap but I did all the work myself (ok maybe some help once or twice) but definitley wouldn't of had the tools/place to do a complete motor swap. I do have the Avenir/new BB style manifold and turbo. It is so nice because it was already facing forward for the front mount.

Just for the record.... my DE was turboed at 150k.

It runs 8psi on the T28 every day, just fine.

If the DE is working well why switch it out. The DE is easy to turbo and very reliable in the long haul. Lots of people have had issues with the DET's spinning bearings and stuff due to bent oil pans, etc. You can always get a DE to replace the existing one if it goes bad in a year or two. Used DE's can be had for a fraction of a det with all the hardware attached. If I had a healty DE I would probably get a Avenier and take all the hardware off of it and run that on my DE, then sell the Avenier/DET longblock to pay for some of my expenses. Unless, you are seeing real roadcourse use (20mins of constant throttle/braking/throttle/etc then the upgrades of a DET are not needed for a street car. Nice to have but not needed.

DET was a AWD car only. We just happen to put it in a FWD.

This rumour seems to fly around this board every other week. I believe because people are thinking Primera's came with BBDET, and they did not.

Personally I want an intercooled T-25 kit with JWT S3's on my DE. I will probably order it through JGY. I will pay more, but it's more DIY friendly as I can see, the parts will be genuine, and I can pick up a phone and yell help if need be.

Cooling is my main concern, so I would like to run a Koyo radiator, and get some nice big fans to put on the other side. +water wetter and TTcap.

There are other things to consider too, but they are redundant to both cases. If I wanted more power, after I get used to running that set-up (~220-230 whp I hope), I would channel it through an S series chassis.

Think about it, if a DET (U12) is from 87-91 there is no way that is going to have 30K. (U13) 91-95 is not hoing to have 30K either. Unless you get a W11 (a new one at that) your DET is not going to have 30K. Unless somebody drives 5K miles a year.

30K on JDM DET's is a falacy unless you have a certified statement showing so.
