well i did a clutch job on a ga16de motor which wasnt to difficult. I would recomend getting a repair manule and if you our mechanicaly inclined i would say go for it. Most everything is straight foward if you run into any special problems email me at slvrsentra@attbi.com and ill see what i can do. I would say if she doesnt need the car for about a week just go at it. You can finish it faster than that but i say a week just in case you know. Eaither way good luck and i hope all goes well
Peace
CORY

Well when i did my clutch job i used the hayness repair manule as a refrence i would also try the chilton too. The haynes was OK it could have been better. I also used this site as a refrence too. http://www.nissanperformancemag.com/...0/clutch.shtml
I really didnt have to use these that much do to fact that it was pretty much straight foward. As long as you a familure with the parts of a car how things go together then i would say your all set.
GOOD LUCK
CORY

It's been a long time since I've had a clutch replaced on a car (my 200's an idiotmatic.../cry) but last time I had it done it was $500 for parts and labor. You sure they listed it for close to $1000 for both parts AND labor? Maybe they're trying to sneak something in on you for a little extra bucks on the side? Plus, it only took them a couple of hours to do it (was a 87 Escort GT Crapmobile, hehe).
The www.se-r.net link to how to do a clutch job is no longer available. Ronald Chong's site has been down for quite some time now. I had a printed copy of his procedures and scanned it in as text, modified it some and posted it on my site. Here is a great resource for a clutch job on a SE-R. I used it to do my G20 clutch a few months ago. Only used the FSM for the torque specs, but you can get those out of Haynes or a Chiltons.
By the way, two of us worked on it. It was a our first time to replace a clutch and we did it in less than 8 hours. Approx. 6 hours if you don't include lunch and piss breaks.
Two of us just took a tranny out of a '91 SE-R and fixed the disc (was put in backwards - not by me ) and put it back in within 2 hours. this was Thrusday.
Took another hour or so to get all the bolts torqued down, all the intake back on, and then we replaced the plugs, wires, cap & rotor and fuel filter.
