what features would be most effective in an automatic 93 se-r? for instance, improving speed from the launch.

also, does anyone know the estimates for replacing auto tranny with a 5-speed manual for the 93 sentra ser?

a det tranny won't work. all det's are either awd or rwd. buy a used tranny on the forum and raid a junkyard for the linkage, pedals, cables and such.

It really isn't worth it, you are looking a $1000 minimum in parts, labor, and headaches. I would only do the swap if you are really dedicated to making a serious race car. If your car is just a temporary project car I would just deal w/ it or buy a different car if it is that big of a deal to you.

all you need is a torque converter... you will be spinning the wheels all the time...

I can't wait to install mine....
my auto already spins the wheels without it...

you will love the higher stall speed along with more power to the wheels..
