ive been trying to get my b13 running NA using the stock ecu and fuel injectors. it runs, but will not idle at all......if it tries, it jumps around in between 500-700 rpms. im pretty sure i have taken care of all the vacuum lines and i dont have any vac leaks. there are two barbed ports/fittings above the air regulator that and dont know where they go. they dont pull any vacuum so im assuming they are coolant lines. anyone know?
have you unplugged any plugs?
if so, look under your battery and there are some plugs beneath. maybe you didnt hook up one or it came loose.
this is what happened to me. My car would be hard to crank up also and when cranked up it would idle around 5-700 rpms...
hopes this helps.
"The IACV-air regulator is used on CA16DE, CA18DE, GA16DE and SR20DE engines to provide increased idle speed during cold engine operation. The valve contains bimetal spring, that is connected to a rotary shutter. The shutter opens, when the engine is cold, allowing additional air to bypass the throttle plates, thus increasing the engine speed. During warm-up, an electrical current supplied to the valve, heats the bimetal spring, closing off the port."
this is all i have found about the air regulator....nothing about coolant lines though
I don't recall seeing those on my highport and I've had my damn regulator out twice now. I bet those are coolant lines to keep the air regulator from getting heat soaked and closing prematurely or something like that. I thought my Air Regulator wasn't working and took it out and hooked it up to 12 volts and it did work, however I had to adjust the shutter position by loosening that nut on the backside of the regulator and sliding it over a bit. (It's in an elongated hole). This helped my warm idle but my cold idle still bounces all over the place.
