just curious if anyone knows if there is any potential benefit from putting U13 BB cams into a B14 DE. im swaping mine for S3's soon and if there is interest i will sell them. but i doubting there is a benefit. TIA
This is a advantage, but they are to harsh for the stock DE. I believe that you have to adjust the valves, etc. to get them to work properly. These are the same cams Nissan Motorsports sells out of their catalog. Atleast they were until they started selling the JWT cams.
SR20's have hydraulic adjustable valves, no manual adjustments are required.
no exactly sure of the two differences but, i supposedly had a det intake cam on my black 200, now my green 200 has a usdm 93 intake cam, feels faster and also started right up, unlike my black 200, but hten again i had a honda guy help me and he couldn't get it started, but i think it was cause he didn't listen to me to use the zip ties.
i did my green intake cam and i had no problems on start up and it feels faster than my black 200, i think my cam timing was off on it.

IIRC the u-13 bb cams and the usdm 91-93 cams are almost the same specs.

Ah shit! Your right.
And about the Nissan Motorsport cams. They are from the Pulsar GTi-R which has solid lifters. I assumed the BBDET also had the solid lifters since it was factory turboed' which would mean the cams do not work well with the hydraulic valves. They would be somewhat harsh at idle (very loby) and would have no bottom end whatsoever since they were made for turbo'd SR20's. But once the rpm range is high enough they would scream.
