define best. FWD SR20DET's come with either a T25 or T28 (GTiR). You need to do some more research. There is no single best turbo for all applications.

You have to decide what your goals are. What hp are you looking for, $$$ to spend, ect....

you have to be more specific.

some people may say a t3/t4 has to much lag but to me i think its just perfect for the street. if you go that route i think a t4e compressor housing is the best, the t4b is kinda small and old school, a t4s is too big for the t3 exhaust, theres no reason at all to use it. at this point the turbo is running out of steam not because of the compressor but because of the exhaust turbine. in that case i would rather upgrade to a larger turbo such as a T51. im talking in terms of full race here, just an example. pm if you need info about which wheel to use.

some people may want instant boost. therefore a T25 would be good. my friend has a 240sx w/ sr20det and an autronic engine management which was tuned really really well and spools INSTANTLY, spools a lot faster than other cars i have riden in with a stock ecu.

best of both worlds would have to the a GT series turbo from either turbonetics, icon, hks or greddy or whoever else makes them. ive seen them sell for $1600-$1800 which may seem really expensive but remember its a full ball bearing CHRA. for comparision a new t3/t4 hybrid cost approx $700 and with the ball bearing option will raise the price $500 for a total of $1200. and remember that isnt a full ball bearing CHRA like the gt series turbo. the GT series turbo cost a little more, but its a lot higher quality.

as for manifolds, obviously if you run a stock turbo you would run a stock manifold. for the t3/t4 hybrid, i would recommend a revhard manifold cause it clearly would outflow the fmax or any other log style manifold. currently i think this is the highest flowing manifold for our cars to be used on the street in production. fmax has a long tube turbo manifold but i dont know if its readily available right now. besides it doesnt look like its to be used on the street, it takes up whatever space is available in the engine compartment.

Do your homework. It's good to learn how to read and interpret compressor maps. Check out these excellent resources: Ranger Power Sports Tech Section » Archive » How To Read A Compressor Map

get a gtir manifold and use a t 28 or a bluebird manifold and a t25 they ae both nice...i'd go for the t 28, just from experience
they'r cheaper and you can find them anywhere, try to find a cheap t3/th hybrid that doesnt need to be rebuilt unless your buying it all in a kit. Kits are also overly expensive.
