Wats up guys, my boy has a 92 ser wit i/h/e and about a month ago he snapped the three bolts holding the bracket (itz a pretty big bracket and it goes to the rear of the motor i belive it holds the motor or the tranny to the firewall kinda hard to describe),when that happened his shifter went down and to the left almost like it was stuck in the corner of the shifter console and he only had 1,3,5 gears then he broke the bracket because all the pressure was on one bolt and the bracket it self. Now after weeks of searching we found a bracket at a junkyard put it in and the three bolts and after some hard driving it snapped the bolts again and he put a brand new rear mount in too. So im like wtf hes like wtf the mechanic is like wtf and u guys are my last hope cause this one i cant figure out. Sorry for the long post had to tell as much detail as possible. Thnx for the help in advance.Lata
My *guess* is that the rest of the mounts are bad as well. As a result, they are placing a lot of stress on that rear mount. I would suggest replacing all four mounts. If not, fill them with urethane. Check out my website below on that procedure.
You need to replace everything with NEW parts, not used or salvage parts. how do you know that the parts you replaced your broken one with didn't have the same weakness as the one you broke yourself. I had that happen to me as well and I bought new parts and have had NO problems since.

I think I know what the problem is. It's called a torque wrench! And you didn't use one. You guys torqued the bolts down too much which caused excessive stress on the bolts and "SNAP!".
