99 se clutch for se-r?

im replacing the clutch in my 95 se-r next week, and am going to get a dealer clutch, ive heard that using a clutch from a 99-00 se is a good idea, and has a stronger pressure plate. anyone done this? what were the results? good? bad?
thanks.

I have a '99 SE disc and PP in my car now, like it just fine so far, only had it a few months and it's used. Had 13K ot it before I got it. Several guys over at the SR20DEforum have them in their pre- 99 SR20 cars as well.

Better PP from what I could tell, thicker "basket" if you will, discs looked the same for the most part.

im wondering if i can use the whole clutch kit from the se, throwout bearing and all, or if i have to piece the kit together with parts from each.

Since the trannies are interchangeable I would think the the whole kit would work. Throwout bearings are pretty universal, one particular bearing will work on various makes and models typically. I think the clutch from a '99 to a '01 2.0 is the same.

i don't believe there is a difference between the 99 and the earlier SR20's.
i believe what u want is a B15 disk with an aftermarket PP.

Yup! Get the JWT PP and a 2000 SE disk.
