Sr18de block with Sr20de Head

Hey people,
Just wondering if anybody has joined an SR20de head to a Sr18 block.

Is there any major differences stopping a straight swap?

Have a mint as Sr20de Head with mint cams and a port'n'polish done. My Sr18de head is getting a bit tired and noisey.

Cheers

It seems likely that this should work. I would do the following to assess the situation.

It seems likely that the only thing that will keep this from working is the different bore of the SR18 vs SR20. (I say this not knowing for sure but it seems logical) You will need a head gasket to make the swap anyway so buy a head gasket and you can use it to evaluate whether or not there will be interference between the valves and the block because of the smaller bore diameter. If there is interference you will need to decide how much money you can spend on machine work. (see your machine shop as there are a couple of ways to fix any problem)

Good luck.

Maybe you could just sell your engine and buy a sr20 block so it will mate up nicely.
