Im planning on doing the ga16 to sr20 swap with a g20 engine.
The tranny will be a g20 one and I was told that the g20 has a larger wheel base then the sentra meaning that I won't be using g20 driveshafts but will the ser and nx2000 driveshafts fit to the g20 tranny???.
yep. as long as you use the correct axles, mounts, etc for a b13...you can use the b13 sr trans, b14 sr trans, and actually even the 00/01 b15 sr20 trans(stronger than the earlier models IIRC...currently installing the 01 roller cam sr20, and 01 trans in my friends 97 200sx). If the transmission you are using had a hydraulic clutch...you will need to convert that to cable(all you really need to do is use the clutch fork/arm assembly out of an earlier cable clutch trans, b13 works). The clutch cable bracket actually can be bolted up to where the clutch slave cylinder used to be.
I believe the g20 trans might have different gear ratios, and a few models came with factory lsd...but other than that they are pretty much the same. all of the earlier transmissions have the same problems, such as weak 3rd gear, and the popping out of gear issue.
The lsd axles from the g20 or the ones from an lsd nx2000 or lsd ser. the g20 has a larger wheel base so I can't use them.... Maybe i should trade the tranny for a nx2000 one. Then ill use the nx2000 driveshafts it will be bolt on with the g20 sr20de and will have no problem with the clutch since the nx2000 uses a cable clutch. Need to get myself an lsd nx2000 tranny.. what do u think??? The g20 tranny needs to be modified to have a cable clucth and the driveshafts to use most come from an ser or nx would they fit?? And if the g20 tranny isnt lsd ill have an other reason to get myself an nx2000 trany!
