GA16DE to SR20DET Swap (Items Needed)

Okay, obviously everything I need has been posted on these forums, but is scattered around. I want to know EXACTLY what I NEED to do an SR20DET swap into my GA16DE powered B13 Sentra. I am ready to start ordering stuff so I need to know absolutely everything I need. I am going to get an SR20DET from JGYCustoms, and that comes with what?

I think this:
Complete engine and turbo setup
Intercooler
Transmission (Clutch? FWD or RWD?)
Alternator
Engine Wiring Harness

What else do I need?
Front axles and hub carriers (is that the right name?)
Motor Mounts

Obviously this route will be cheaper than then turboing my GA16DE and I will get more HP and a lesser mileage engine. I have a friend with a car lift and everything I need to put the engine in. I am drawing blanks here right now for what I need. Do I need a new dash cluster?

The sticky doesn't have all the parts. Someone even says so in the thread.

Will the Bluebird, Avenier, GTI-R engines work for me? I ask because aren't they RWD engines?

all work, yes you need the axles and everything. Motor, tranny, axles, motor mounts, harness, ecu, gauges, all motor parts, radiator... and the parts listed in the sticky

If you think the BB, Avenier, and GTI-R are RWD then you might want to do more research first before attempting this swap.

Some of them are used in RWD....

On our cars, is the clutch seperate or is it in the tranny?

Can I re-use the instrument cluster?

And I searched for Osaka engines on here, and it returned some negative feedback. They say they can get me a BB w/ FWD tranny for $1600 shipped to my door. This includes:

Motor with the turbo
Transmission (5sp)
Uncut Wiring Harness
All required Cables
ECU
Cam angle sensor (CAS)
Complete Intake Manifold
Alternator
A/C
Power Steering Pump
All Brackets and Sensors
Shiftlinkage

I don't want to get scammed out of my money here....

What all do the JGYCustoms engines come with?

What front wheel drive trans do they include? Unless it is an se-r trans for sentra/200sx it won't do you any good... I have never seen any manual transmission, for any car that has the clutch inside the transmission...they are always attached to the flywheel. And no, The Bluebird, gtir, and avenier are not used in rear wheel drive, they are fwd/awd engines (mounted sideways, not front to back like rwd takes) - I think you are thinking of the s13, and s14 sr20det that are rwd(different engines). Yes, you can (and should) re-use the instrument cluster. The "cables and wiring harness" they include, will be for the car the engine came out of - not a sentra, you need to use an se-r harness. Same for the ecu, you really should get a jwt ecu(and swap all the sensors on the engine to usdm parts). The cam angle sensor doesn't really matter...as you should use a usdm se-r distributor with the swap anyways. The jdm a/c compressor can NOT be used...the lines are a different size and will not bolt up(at least on my b14 they didn't fit), so you need the usdm a/c compressor and bracket assembly to have a/c. Shift linkage? for what car? once again, you need se-r stuff...not parts from whatever car it came out of. The jdm powersteering pump does work however, you need to bend the lines a little bit(did on my b14 anyways). Really man...read up a bit more - Search - Don't try to say there isn't answers to all of your questions...between here, and sr20forums there is everything you need to know (times 4). I know there is...this is where I found everything I needed to know to do my swap. As for what all do jgy engines come with... Pick up the phone and ask them, thats the easiest way to find out.

Okay, would an SR20DE swap be easier than an SR20DET swap? It would be alot cheaper I think and I could maybe upgrade to a better turbo later down on the road, like the GT28RS from JGY (their kit) for 340whp.

Yes, an sr20de would be easier. But not by much...you have to change a lot of the same stuff to put either in so you may as well start out by swapping in the one you want. If you know you want a turbo later...just go with the sr20det now, it has lower compression, is built a little stronger and is an all around better choice.

How much do you expect it all would cost?

U13 Bluebird SR20DET: $1700
FWD Transmission: $420
JGY-STREET-se-r Sprung 6 Puck Disk: $309
JGY Lightweight Flywheel: $269
Intercooler Kit for BB DET: $799
ECU: $200
SE-R Koyo Radiator: $301.99

That's about $3998.99 right there, more like $5000 by the time I get the other things needed for the swap.. That is a tad more then what i can get in a year or so (only 16). I would need other things too. So I am thinking of going with just the SR20DE now because it will a couple thousand dollars less.

JDM SR20DE: $569
FWD Transmission: $420
JGY-STREET-se-r Sprung 6 Puck Disk: $309
JGY Lightweight Flywheel: $269
ECU: $200
B14 SE-R Harness: $299
SE-R Heater Hoses: $39
Axle Carrier Bracket: $135
Passenger Side Bracket for Motor Mount: $56

So that is about 3k for the other odds and ends I know I missed....

The whole reason I am doing the swap is to get a lower mileage engine, better gas mileage, and more wheel horse power.... The Hotshot will cost me more then $ grand to get everything I need.

If you are only looking for more mileage, and a newer engine - just swap in a jdm ga15de...
