Which header should I get?

I'm looking at getting a header for my car, and was wondering about the differences between the stillen header, or the lastest gen hotshot header. Whose got what? and what would you reccomend?

Hotshot.

They are dyno proven to outpower the Stillen. Not by much, but there you go.

Maybe one day someone will scan the big SR20DE header comparison done by SCC a while back.

What were the results?

HS makes the best header for the sr20de. Stillen is pretty good but HS tends to produce more power and has better construction.

Hotshot pretty much won. The AEBS header was VERY close in peak power production, and may have had a little more power under the curve, but lacked emissions fittings........

Stillen did well, but not nearly as well as the top two.

One thing the test DID point out, is that the Pacesetter header blows fat donkey dick as a power producer........only buy their products if there is NOTHING else on the market for your car.

Who every you are that made the comment about the pacesetter you are a moron.

Fact the header comparison stated that the paint on the pacesetter was burning off as they did the test and fudging the O2 sensor

Fact when the true test was done the Hotshot only out performed the pacesetter by 1-2hp within a short RPM range.

Fact www.sr20deforum.com look for the name Smoothdaddyfig and see that without cams a jdm engine short ram intake and pacesetter hearder he is making almost 150whp and trapping 95mph + in the 1/4

In about 5 minutes I will show you the link to where all of you trash mouth morons that talk shit about pacesetter can see for yourself.

OK, so here's the numbers everyone wants.

Torque numbers will follow tomorrow or so; I have to get the
data from group 5.

Headers are listed from left to right as follows:
Stock manifold #1
AEBS 4-1 header #2
S&S 4-1 header #3
Stillen 4-1 header #4
Hotshot 4-2-1 header #5
Pacesetter 4-2-1 header#6

**Yes I notice that the HS header doesn't start until 2200;
that's where it starts, but I'll double check later tonight (i
left the disk with the dyno runs on it at Group 5)

This was the last head's up comparo done, 1999. i believe that the hotshot was a gen 3 pacesetter has remained the same. anyone that thinks that the gen 5 is that much greater you are welcome to show proof but until you show me a back to back comparo don't talk about what you don't drive.

Oh God....here we go again....

I don't care if Pacesetter is making 50 whp, they are still a cheap rip-off of the previous generation HS header. I have yet to witness a quality product from Pacesetter, I would avoid their header and exhaust like the plague.

I agree, the Pacesetter is commonly known as a Hotshot Gen1 knock-off. Whether Pacesetter had gotten permission to use this design from Hotshot or not, I don't know. If you want the best and cost is not an option, get the latest Hotshot or AEBS (if it ever becomes available again). If money is tight and/or you really need a header ASAP, Pacesetters I heard are easier to come by.

yet another talking enough crap and doesn't know, tell me what the mods are you have on your car and your dyno numbers. then we will talk. bottom line the HS gen 5 will not make anywhere near 8hp over the pacesetter.
Study the comparo above the major changes hotshot has made since gen 3 have had to do with the flex pipe. so let's see $450 HS or $150 shipped PS that delivers maybe 1-2 less hp.

Show me your dyno champ, and I will get my PS dynoed as soon as I have a weekend off. this is no longer what you guys do as arm chair pissing fight. Show me big man

O
ps Show me a crappy pacesetter and Ill show you a few busted flex pipes.

Hehehe! Well said! And totally agree!

Show me atleast one brand of SR20DE header that has not cracked and I'll shit in the woods. Wait, I already did that. Well, you get the point...

...Less than $160 shipped to my door, dyno proven HP and torque gains, oh and a shitty shipping paint finish. Well, I'm not entering any car shows so...

...I know where my monies going. Pacesetter Power!!

I took the extra cash and bought a new battery, did an oil change in my car and my wifes car 4 times now (each car), and still had plenty left over for other goodies.

Whoa....reign it in tiger, we are talking about a stupid metal pipe, I'm not talking crap about your mom. I was not aware you felt so strongly, geez....were you beaten over the head as a child w/ a HS header?

No I do not have a dyno chart handy but I have viewed many a chart showing Pacesetter headers and exhausts performing lower than their competition. If you are struggling for cash, by all means by a freaking Pacesetter, a couple of hp is not that big of a deal. However, if you are like me, I try to buy the highest quality components I can afford, and in my case HS was the way to go.

You can fling your Pacesetter inferiority complex all around you want, but remember it's just a stupid car part.
