I take it personal when someone decides to state an untruth about a product that they have no experience with.
If you want me to believe that "highest quality" justifies $200+ difference for onle 1-3hp. You are not really into the economics of going fast are you?
As I have stated if you have the HS header show me your dyno. I will show you a dyno of PS header, custom exhaust, Short ram intake making 149whp.
I have a pacesetter exhaust and a hotshot header...of the 2 the hotshot header has been the better product...the pacesetter exhaust has rattled apart twice now and it's been welded and bent back, but this may have to do with the choice of a magnaflow cat. I can post the dyno if you want, the header gave me 8 peak hp, but really just imprved everything. not that the pacesetter header wouldn't have, but I have 2 charts to prove the HS numbers...the second set was after the clutch and flywheel were replaced and I found out how much power I was losing there...

Please do post your dyno. I am interested in seeing what your numbers are. Especially after your clutch and flywheel install.

Just show me

Hmm.....well, I do have to admit, that outside of reading a few articles and eyballing a few dynos, I actually have no direct experience with Pacesetter headers on SR20DE's.
BUT.
Having been around a few other groups of people (such as Probe, Neon and Cavalier owners) who have had mostly BAD experiences with Pacestter products, I was more than willing to believe a respected magazine's dyno testing (strange that, huh....believing a respected magazine?). Not to mention, that their products for other vehicles get consistantly out dynoed by almost everything else (2nd gen PGT headers are the only Pacestter product I can think of that is an actual power leader...still a crappy product though).
I still stand by my original statement, that ONLY BUY PACESETTER PRODUCTS IF THERE IS NO OTHER OPTION (or you really like replacing stuff on your car). OK, sure, you can pick up a Pacesetter header for 1/3-1/2 the cost of a Hotshot one, but 5 years later, after you've bought 3 Pacesetters and your friend is still on his 1st Hotshot (don't laugh, this happens to Probe GT owners ALL the time), maybe you'll regret buying the cheap stuff, and suddenly the "economics of going fast" get a little skewed.
As for the Dynoing, well, SCC did their best to give a fair comparison (as they always try to do), and while the O2 sensor *may* have been having problems from the paint burning off, it still sucked as far as making power.......sure, you have charts where the Pacesetter does better, but unless we all get together and do another big header comparo, we'll never know which is right...will we?

Originally posted by onyxeros This was the last head's up comparo done, 1999. i believe that the hotshot was a gen 3 pacesetter has remained the same. anyone that thinks that the gen 5 is that much greater you are welcome to show proof but until you show me a back to back comparo don't talk about what you don't drive.
O
The gen 5 has a merged secondary pipe so it should have more power than the gen 3.
