Fuel Pressure Release

Alright, this one has me really stumped.

I have to relase the pressure in my fuel lines so I can replace my intake manifold, and I'm in the middle of quite a few other sub-projects on my car, and it's in absolutely no position to be started to release the pressure via removing the fuse and running until it stalls.

Any ideas ?

Thanks = )

Remove the hose from the fuel filter and catch all the fuel that dumps out.

Pull out the fuel pump relay and start the car.

Yeah.......

Why do you need to release the pressure...just take off the fuel rail as a whole unit without removing anything and lay it out of the way. You don't need to take out the injectors or remove the fuel hoses or anything to remove the intake mani.

If the car has been sitting for some time the pressure should be released. Just remove the hose from the fuel return line and as stated you can move the fuel rail out of the way. It will likely leak a little fuel so use a towel to catch that.
