Talking 215hp at 6psi

Just thought I would share. I got to dyno my car this weekend, and I am very pleased with the results. Thats right, 215hp at only 6psi!

Again, my mods, JDM sr20, jwt ecu, pullies, pop charger, 3" (with 2.25" muffler)

I'm assuming your SR20 is a Bluebird or Avenier DET motor right?

Also....2.25in muffler? Ouch. Some power there.

Oh....and did you do this with a test pipe, or with a Cat in place?

My motor is a Primera one, I did the swap a few years back, and put the turbo kit on last month. I have a 3" exhaust all the way from the downpipe, no testpipe or cat.

Is that uncorrected hp? The power seems high for what mods you have and the boost pressure your are running. Typical is 195-200 on a well set up stock DET.

Need I say more?

But just to clear things up, the turbo I have has a GT-T28 center section, and I am using a 4 bar ecu.

Mike--

Like Serban said...he's running the 4-bar fuel program, and his T25 really isn't a T25 if you know what I mean.

Good numbers, nonetheless.

The 79 trim turbine and the .86 a/r housing is whats doing it. Not exactly a stock DET then!

But I dont have a DET, I have a Primera motor with a BB kit and modified turbo. I should have higher hp numbers than a stock DET anyway because of the slightly higher compression.

Your primary power gain is due to the lower backpressure of the turbine, the compression accounts for less than 5 hp of the gain.

Is it worth spending the $600 to upgrade my T25 to a T28?

It depends if the additonal power is worth it to you or not. The T28 has the potential to make up to 280-290 hp.
