I have a 99 sentra with the 1.6 with a stick I test drove a 99 with the 2.0 auto it didnt seem much faster than my car has anyone here driven both of the cars does it seem that way to anyone else thank for your input
Yes in '93 I tested an auto SE-r and I was disppointed in the performance. I tested one with the salesman, then I tested a used one with a couple of thouseand miles without the salesman and it still wasn't impressive. So the difference in the power between the 1.6 and the 2.0 wasn't worth it to me given the added cost and I couldn't afford it anyway. Well here it is 9 nears latter and I of course wish I bought the SE-r (a manual) but at the time I did the right thing.

I didnt think you could get a b13 se-r with an auto. I know the NX2K did but not the Sentras.
Either way, there is a world of difference between the GA16 and the SR20. My first car was a 93 XE. Since then I have owned a 92 NX2K and I now drive a 91 SE-R. That XE couldnt beat an NX2K or SE-R that didnt know it was racing. To me it was well worth the extra money for the 2 litre. And after driving them for the past few years I would hate to go back to my first XE. But it was a very good beginner car, and I never had any problems out of it. And if it werent for that I probably would not have my SE-R.

99 SE-L :( --> intake = stock. what a turd. ill handling, slow, and fugly.
Yeah they made them in auto....I wasn't in a parallel universe when I test drove it back in '93 (2 different auto SE-r's as a matter of fact). But yes they are/were rare.
Hey you guys questioning the existence of auto b13 SE-r's...
Look in your owner's man and there is a separate section describing the trans and it explains the operation of the "sport" and "comfort" modes dash switch, etc., features the b13 non- SE-r's do not have.

As much as anyone may still want proof (and I am looking), I actually saw an automatic SE-R in March of '91 before picking up my car. It was sitting in a warehose at the dock, just off the delivery ship. Salesman says "here's an SE-R . . . oh wait, it's an automatic." The reason I was at the warehouse, was that I was searching for a car that one of the car buying guides mentioned existed: a 4-door SE-R. Didn't find one. I ended up with an unusual SE-R with no air, no radio , no ABS, no leather shift boot and steering wheel, but with an OEM sunroof.

BECAUSE IT'S THE ONLY ONE I FOUND!!! I've had both an XE and an SE-R, both auto's. It was the first SE-R I ever saw for sale here in Chicago and so I jumped on the chance. The funny thing is I saw a manual SE-R for sale 1 month after buying my SE-R. I posted a WHILE back about my XE being able to take my SE-R off the line. After a complete tune up, timing adjustment, oil change, etc, I love my SE-R and I am glad I got it (and I have driven a manual SE (GA16DE)). I'll one day swap the tranny but until then it's not that bad.
