i am purchasing a 94 se-r off a member and it has a spun bearing. so i talked with jgy about gettin a DET. Nate convinced me into gettin a GTI-R. i didnt have a lot of time on the phone with him, but do you guys think its worth the extra dough? also, what is going to be different about the swap? i have done a u12 bluebird in a 91 before.. so what things will i need different? i already know about the ECU, just more concerned about the small stuff.

thanks... i did search. but if we always use the solution as search for all the small parts. then these threads will continue to arise. wasnt sure if anyone was up to just helping out and listing everything in one thread, then possibly making it a stickie. Plus time has passed to get opinions about whether or not it is worth paying extra for.
sorry if i came off a like a prick. really didnt intend to.
theres probebly different wiring not harder just different and maybe one or 2 more things. The git-r block has to be trimmed a little for the crossmember to clear (easy) u will see what i mean if and when u receive it, took me 40 minutes with a rotory file and a saw zawl.
flywheel bolts have to be drilled out from 10 mm (stock sr20) to 11mm (stock gti-r)
use stock se-r coolant hoses from the block to heater core and use stock se-r power stearing lines
ac lines will fit but need to be bent a litte to clear
hope your good with vacuum lines beacuse as u know turbo cars have a lot
only 2 out of the three bolts for the "carrier shaft" for the passenger side will bolt up but its no big deal
o and heres a site that helped me out a lot and will probebly repeat most of what i typed

Hey just remember; on that GTIR motor there are a lot of parts you can't use off of any other SR20DE. If something breaks you will most likely have to import the part from Japan!
thats just one example theres a whole list just like that and some items that umay not be able to get even if u REALLLLY TRIED so be careful to do everything right if and when u decide to get it
my gti-r runs great i love it, as long as u can get the bearings and have them installed and both rods and crank is good then yea go for it. better be under 2200 with a full electrical harness and ecu though or its just a rip off considering u have to do work once u get it. make sure who ever has it tells u the readouts for a compression and leak down test
i got my gti-r with a few goodies like a clutch and afc controller for 2 g's
