Just came in from NipponMotors! I can't believe how clean it is looks like new! Anyone know if these blocks are date-coded? I'm curious what year it actually is. What a steal for $450!

What color is your valve cover? Or is it even painted?

Actually, it wasn't my question. You can tell (roughly) what year engine you got by looking at your valve cover. '90~'94 (talking about JDM) SR20DE came with "Painted" valve cover. They are painted Silver, but first generation motors (90-92) came with Silver valve cover with black painted spark plug wire area. Newer engines came with unpainted valve cover. (some 94 and 95~up)
Some 94 motor didn't come with painted VC. IF you have the valve cover which is not painted at all, (bare aluminum), you have the newer 95 and newer engine. If you are not clear about this, post a pic.

What the hell? They sell the 1.6 for the same price as the 2.0.
You'd think that the 2.0 would command a premium.

***** Sounds great. How much/how far was the shipping? How many miles [approx] are supposed to be on these engines? I am rebuilding my SR20DE, and the parts alone will be more than $450. Thanks
