What should I pay for this donor motor?

Found a '93 (I think) NX2000 in a junkyard. It is an auto with 133K. What is a reasonable price for the complete drivetrain?
I assume the motor at that mileage and sitting there God knows how long isn't a fine specimen so I expect to have to tear it down. The idea is for a swap; this is exactly the same power output as an SE-R, correct?

Um . . . correct seeing as how it's the same engine.

How much of the wiring harness do I need to grab? I know to get the harness from the engine to and including the computer, but is it that for the harness that will be required?

You need the engine and tranny harnesses. However if they aren't going to charge you extra for harnesses, try and get all of them and try to keep them intact.

***** I kind of doubt that you'll get an SR20 for that price. Even a rebuildable core is worth more than that. Same for the trans. If you do buy this combo, kindly tell us what you paid for it. I think we'd all like to know. Thanks

I understand what you mean. $150 for a motor and $50~$80 for transmission is a little crazy. BUT I posted that because I believe it is not impossible.

Here are the reasons.
I see some engine places (i.e.) K. Watanabe, Soko sells low mileage JDM motors for $300 and up. This motor has 133,000 miles on it, so I thought if he could take it home for $200, that would be a good deal. To get $200 deal, I would start offrering from $150.

For transmission, I just have to show you how much I got mine for.

This also sound unreal, but for the transmission with that much mileage on it, I thought it was possible to get it for $100 or less.

Getting price like that is not easy, but if try hard, it usually works. I just wanted to give that idea.

Yes it's possible to pick it up for cheap....this guy wouldn't know the difference between a 1.6 or 2.0 Sentra. I bought a center console from him for $10, and a complete "SE-R stlye" trunk lid with those lights and a spoiler for only $40, the same thing on E-bay was $550 or some such shit. I think it would make more sense to buy a trashed SE-r and swap it to my XE though....I dunno.
