I just got this brand new momo shift knob from a friend and we tried installing it in my car ( 91' sentra se-r ). There was no way we could get the stock shift knob off. We tried turning by hand, pliers, wrench, bananas, everything. Is there a way where I can take it off? Do I have to replace the whole shifter? Please help.
Another thing. I have a sunroof! , but the motor is burned out. Where can I find a replacement? Should I go to a pick and pull, because I thought of that but there isn't really any nissan sentras with sunroofs out there, it would be pretty rare to find that part.

The shift knob has glue on it so its very hard to get off. I got a very large friend to take mine off. Most people wrap the knob in a cloth then use vice grips to twist it off.
i just took mine off to night and it is a serious bitch. since it was already messed up i just used a big pair of vice-grips and alot of force and it came off.

yeah i noticed one day out of curiosity that the were a pain to get off but then when i got my momo knob the car had been sitting in the sun for the day and some how it came right off i was happy cause i thought it would be a bi**h
thanks, I haven't had a shot at it yet, but I'm gonna try tonight. This new momo shifter I got doesn't screw on, I need to tighten screw. Is this good or bad? Where do you think I can get shifters for my se-r?

True, the stock knob is fine unless you've already gotten all the performance goodies possible for your car and are just itching to spend money. Heck, both by '91 SE-Rs have the stock knobs and boots. Hell, the SE-R that I've had since 3/91 still has the rubber knob and boot.

I've heard from some people who have had to resort to pulling the shifter and either running it over with the car (which seems to break the lock-tite pretty well) or using a big-ass pipe to leverage on it.
I used a strap wrench (plumbers wrench) on mine, and it was still a b!!ch to get loose. The glue they used is some mean sh!t. Good luck, and if you still don't get it after a few beers, have a few more!
