i'm having serious problems with my '96 5-speed, 200sx se-r.
last friday i pulled into a parking lot...pushed the clutch in...put my car in first gear..."turned off the engine"...and took my keys out the ignition...AND MY ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING!!!
i took my foot off the clutch to stall the car out...funny thing is the dash meters (temp) were still working as were the dash lights. it took about one minute for them to go out.
i started my car and moved it to the back of the parking lot and repeated the process all over...same result. the interior of the car smelled like brake dust or asbestos and when i tried to start the car again, it acted like it was out of gas. it would just barely start and then immediately stall out. i started it again and reved the engine and it ran okay.
so...any suggestions?? my engine light is on now and someone suggested that a bad o2 sensor could cause the problem so i just installed a new sensor. however, the start/stall/engine rev is still present.

i have 122k on my se-r and i LOVE my car but after replacing the entire exhaust system, alternator (2x's) and now this (all in one year), i'm seriously considering trading in for 2002 audi a4.
