Talking TRANNY PROBLEM...clutch? I DID A SEARCH!:)

Long story made short " I DID DO A SEARCH BUT COUDLNT FIND ANY SPECIFIC INFO SO DONT YELL AT ME"

I picked up my dream car today after years of having an NX1600
I BOUGHT A NX2000 FOR 300 BUCKS!!!!!!!!

Heres the problem. Clutch is adjusted out all the way...when the car is off I can go in and out of gears but when its running I depress the clutch and I cant get into any of the gears..........Someone please tell me that I just need a clutch--- Im sure that is what the problem is-- I hope so-- This car has 125,000 miles on it-- when I went to look at it I wasnt going to get it b/c I thought it was a 1600 and it is beat..........I opened the hood and what do I find??? ITS A NX2K.....for 300 bucks man!!!!! Luckily I live in fl so there is no rust---- I consider myself really lucky!! Im really familiar with the Ga but have no experience with the Sr..........but IM PROUD TO BE STEPPING UP INTO THIS PART OF NISSAN FORUMS!!!!

Did you adjust the clutch cable? Try that first before you buy a new clutch.
I had the same problem several years ago. It would only go in gear when the engine was off. I was about 5 miles from home when it happened. I finally forced it into 2nd gear and drove like that all the way home. The pressure plate went, so I had to replace the clutch.

if its alllll the way out and cant adjust any more then id say the clutch asembely or fly wheel is wearing pretty thin ORRRR whats the condition of your clutch cable does it feel like its getting stuck at all.. any creaky crackely sounds. because if its on its way out then it may have stretched, chances are if the car is idk 130,000 miles then it might be that the stock cable is beat i would check that out first being the easiest

Definitely clutch-related. The cables in our cars suck butt, so I'd replace that first. Like 40 bucks and 10 minutes. If a cable doesn't fix it, you probably broke something on the clutch. On my 1600, I destroyed my disc somehow, and pieces of it were getting caught between the disc and pressure plate, keeping the tranny connected to the engine. A pressure plate is also a likely candidate, but once you have the tranny out, it will be easy to see. Good luck, and don't get gear oil in your hair.

Can I put a turbo in my non-turbo? Yes. The trunk is quite large.
Can I put a Supercharger in my Z31?Yes. You can probably put it next to the turbo.
Can I put a Z32/newer 300ZX/VG30DETT in my Z31? This one is iffy. You'd have to disassemble it to get it in the trunk.

destroyed it somehow? lol thats called dumping the clutch buddy lol my buddys gti did that a couple of times. that and especially if it was a stock sachs clutch (junk) then i can see why it would fall apart. if u do plan to do a clutch job make sure to freshen everything uip. clean the inside re grease the throw arm, new tob new clutch, new pressure plate and atleast have the flywheel surfaced if not get a fidenzia for a little power gain
