flywheel help (urgent!!)

going to do a new clutch install this weekend. i finally got all my parts in and my flywheel resurfaced.

98 sentra sr20de
93 NX2K flywheel (this will fit my car too, right?)

i have a quick question on the flywheel. i had the guy at the machine shop cut the flywheel down to the next lip (about 1/8" down).
so now it is perfectly flat all the way across the flywheel.

i just looked at some of the lightened stock flywheels that people have had done on NPM. the center portion where the clutch friction surface is, is raised well above where the pressure plate bolts are.
i hope i'm explaining it right. basically, starting at the outer edge of the flywheel and going towards the middle, once you get past the pressure plate bolt holes the flywheel surface begins to ramp upwards as you get to the clutch friction area.

will i have any problems with my flywheel being perfectly flat all the way across. would this affect engagement at all?

here's a pic click here!

thanks again,
dan

yea i was pretty sure that the flywheel would fit.

i was just mainly concerned about the differences in height of the flywheel's clutch friction surface and the area where the pressure plate bolt holes are.

I can't remember if the SR20 flywheel is supposed to be stepped or not. It will still bolt up just fine but it will make a slight difference in the way the clutch feels. you shouldn't have a problem. A flat flywheel will give you a little less play in your pedal.

New Info..........

The flywheel is supposed to have a .007" step.
Having a flat flywheel however, is acceptable.
