SHOOOOOOT.. why would the cubs want to worry about winning a world series and getting the best players around. Think about it.
#1. They almost NEVER win their division and get to the playoffs.....hence, no bonuses paid out.
#2. The cub fans are ALWAYS going to be cub fans, because that's the way they are.....loyal if they lose or lose.
#3 They ALWAYS have a packed house, which brings in TONS of money for the organization, while not paying out as much. It's the "IN" thing for all of the yuppies in wrigleyville to do in the afternoon....go to a Cubs game.
However it would be nice to see them get a nice couple of "backing" players and have a decent team this year......a cross town series would be nice!
ooooooh...oooooooh....they can always go after Frank Thomas!!! ....DAMN that's right....no DH in the NL.
