The key word is sports.. as stated above Poker is not a sport.. It's an activity.... it's a card game....

I'm just having a hard time seeing the excitment value... "Wow... Did you see how he bet that hand?..." or... "Wow he got the river card he wanted...damn he is good"

Damn that's exciting lol

I thought it stood for

Eastern Sports Propoganda Network..

Thank gawd I didn't have to sit through another Red Sox Post Season game with Chris Berman as the play by play guy... He might as well have been wearing a Red Sox Jersey...

poker is as much a sport as nascar, in that they both take a lot of patience and skill, but neither is truely a sport.

I root for phil ivey as well, he's my favorite.

Not surprising, they are on the East coast.

nascar is physically demanding though. i mean they sit in a 200 degree car for 4 hours straight without being able to relax a muscle. not any schmo on the street can do that

Poker tourneys can last up to three days... if that isn't physically taxing, I don't know what is.

Dude you are soooooo wrong about NASCAR... It's extremly physically demanding and takes enormous skill..... ENORMOUS SKILL...

Spend one day at a race school driving at 3/4 speed for 20 laps (with no cars close to you) and you'll come back with a new found respect for what those guys do... anyone can sit at a table and play cards, drink booze and smoke cigars......only a select few can drive a car 200mph in traffic for 4 hours..
