Im the rookie with a question

hello nissanforums,

I just registered to this site and i have a question about my 240sx that maybe you people can help with. My s14 has a "evap hose leak" i had the code read at nissan and at a independent shop. I also noticed a dent in my fuel tank, could that dent in the fuel tank be the problem? let me know what you guys think...thx

The best thing you can do initially is to jack the back of the car up and inspect all the hoses that are part of the evaporative emission system. It's located on the passenger's side behind the tire.

ok i looked at the hoses that connect to the evap canister...they looked fine, i then noticed how far the hoses go, should i check the hoses throughout the entire car? or can the canister be at fault?

It won't hurt to check the hoses front to back. The canister should have a solenoid valve which may have gone bad. If it's possible for you to get the exact ECU fault code, maybe we can narrow the search for the failed component.
