ka-t boost question

what is a safe boost level to run on a 95 ka24de, i rebuilt the motor so it has all new gaskets, resurfaced head, new pistons and rods (still ka parts, but brand new). i was thinking 7psi, but i dont want to harm the motor, what is a good safe psi to run on my ka? also,w aht kind of whp and wheel torque can i expect at that psi?

I have the exact same car and i just rebuilt my whole engine along with many other things. From what i found 8 psi has been tested to work safely on the ka motor. your whp can be 100+. Not sure on the torque but if u r getting the turbonetics kit it was recommended to get a fuel controller. here is the web site http://www.turbo-kits.com/240SX_turbo_kits.html.

safeboost levels depend on a number of things mainly fuel management, as well as turbo size,IC or not,etc etc. Your basic SAFC2 w/370s setup (properly tuned), on a t3/t4 about 6-7psi would be ok with a little base timing pulled, add a maxima or z32 MAF and you can bump up another psi to 8. Add a jwt/Enthalopy ECU and bigger injectors and 10-12psi is safefor stock internals. You can expect anywhere from 190whp/ftlbs to 300whp/ftlbs all depending on setup. I hope this gets you started.

This subject has been covered many many times in past posts. Before posting, please do searches; it's an excellent learning tool.

Here's a good write-up on boosting the KA: http://www.ka-t.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6263
