Unhappy problem with ac(please help)

I have a 1990 240sx, I have a problem with my air conditioner. The blower works, but it does not blow cold air at all and when i press the AC button, the green light does not come on either. Can anyone please tell me what the problem might be? and how to fix it? any tips or suggestions will help...

If im not mistaken the light will not come on if the compressor isn't coming on. Check the connections to the compressor, and also in the relays that are under the hood, there is an ac relay. If everything looks ok then your probably just low on freon. If its low enough on freon the compressor wont come on. Hope this helps.

are you sure the compressor hasnt blown up yet? older nissans are notorious for a/c goin out my sentra and 240 had a/c go out.

If you know someone with an ac recovery system they can pump enough in to test and then suck it back out. Im sure there is another way to test the pump but I have a recovery system so thats the only way I know how. And I live in Donelson but Im usually in Lebanon.

Don

compressor isn't coming on. probably no freon in the system. have an A/C system test to check pressure. unless you know some one with an Automotive 609 lisence to buy freon, you'll need a shop to charge the A/C anyway. other possibility is the high/low pressure switch located on the accumlator/drier. The drier is located just below the battery and toward the driver in the engine compartment. check a manual and test out the switch if you're curious. probably no big deal man, just have the system charged. best of luck.
