Hot Valve cover

I've been noticing lately that when I pop the hood, my valve cover is really hot, even smells hot too. My temp. gauge is always right in the middle and I don't have any shortage of coolant or any leaks! I just changed my oil too. The next day i changed it, my cover was so easy to touch i could put my hand on it forever. today i tried and nearly burnt the shit out of my hand! Anyone know what could possibly be going on? Is it because I have the heater on all the way home from work?

maybe your timing is off that makes your engine run hotter

im sure thats normal. if all your fruids are up like they should be, i dont see why it would run hotter. your not supposed to touch an engine after youve jsut driven for a while
they get hot as hell. it will burn the shit out of you no doubt.

turning on the heater actually draws heat from the motor. it would , if anything, make the motor run cooler.
