ya know, i have been looking around at all the links and everything throughout the site here, and i came to realize that my engine has little to no performance parts.
it seems that every link on this site has parts for the ka24de/sr/rb but not or nearly nothing for the ka24e.
i dont have money to swap a motor into my car. i was reading through how to swap the unholy sr20 and frankly it seems a little hard to swap.
dont get me wrong, re-locating power steering, your AC and having to get a gauge cluster from a 180sx, makes it well worth it, but why dont they make any parts for just the 24e?
What kind of parts are you looking for? The only thing worth doing to a KA(E or DE) Would be forced induction. And Im pretty sure that DE parts will fit the E.

depending on how much you are looking on spending overall and power gains, you should upgrade. the E is a single overhead cam, and is therefore limited much more than the de or another engine. even if you did boost it, you wouldn't get the gains you could with the de. less flow, its as simple as that. if you are planning on a hardcore build, buy a motor with a blown head or something like that from a salvage yard and build it up. I'm not sure if you can or if its worthwile, but you may be able to go to just a DE head and change out some sensors and a timing belt... best of luck
im sure once a ka24de is boosted its potent, but my stock nx2000 5 speed has owned many ka;s that had intake and exhuast, i had car lenghts on them by second gear.

Not necessarily true, though the general idea of the DE head flowing better then the E is correct. It doesn't mean that you can't see tremendous gains out of the E...

i guess i just dont look hard enough.

There are Cams, Intake, MAF, Exhaust, Timing gears, Pulley sets and Headers.
And that is the Basic stuff. A KA-E is what ran in the GT3 class, Nasty engines when built.
They are very good and with the right combo and lighten the vehicle, it is a corner monster. The Balance is the same on a KA as a SR and you don't loose the CC's.
I didn't read everyone's post so I dont' know if this was said.
Look up Jim Wolf Tech
He makes performance parts for the KA, you can also get a hotshot header which adds some good power, plus there are some other things you can do. You won't be beating Porches but with some nice tastful mods you can have a decent car.
Go handling mods first if you don't have a lot of money, like go look in junk yards for a LSD that you can install, like something from a Infinite J30, Get Altima GXE brakes (that way you can save money and stay 4 lug) a lot of things you can do.

i knew about the 5 lug conversion with the 300zx brakes (product of searching ) but this altima brake upgrade is new to me. what year and how much larger are the brakes? and slo9012Vde check out this site iv leard alot www.240sx.org check out the faq section i havent joined there but im sure that would help alot too............im sure most of the guys here are there as well
The KA-E has lots of boosted potential, and the beauty is that its sooo cheap to replace the engine. Seriously, the E has the advantage of a single (cheap) cam that solves all your boosted flow needs I would definitely NOT swap it out.
Well i have a dead built KAe seating in my garage (long story). In some ways the KAe is cheaper to build and boost then the DE, and SR. Its singal cam, makes that upgrade cheaper, top feed injectors make for upgrading injectors cheaper. the only parts you need that are difrent then say the DE would be the exhaust manifold. Then there are the disavantages is that the engine does not have some of the safegards that the other 2 engines have (piston oil squrters, and knock sensor).
My curent plans are to swap an SR into my girlfriends 93 coupe, rebuild her DE on the side (using the pauter rods, and fandaza flywheel from my KAe). drop that into my 90, and then turbocharge the KAde. right now i have JE pistons at 9:1 CR and a fully ported and polished head for sale. Later i will have an underdrive pulley, JWT Cam, and exhaust headers for sale for the KA24e engine.

maybe this will help you change your mind. yes, it would be a good idea to swap in a DE into your car, but if the funds and time doen't agree then find something that does.
