Question on ABS...

As you all know I'm planning on doing an SR20DET swap into my '91 240sx hb. I'm wondering about the ABS though. When I swap the SR in will I need to drop the ABS...if so how do I do so, and if not, then is it really worth it to keep it or should I lose it anyway? Thanks...

I don't know about the interface between abs and the sr ecu but if there is no technical reason that you nee dot chuck abs then I would recomend not to. It is a added saytey device that might save your bacon one wet day. I think of it like this you would not cut out the secondary chute when sky diving then why take out ABS or airbags?

i personally don't like ABS. it takes away driver control. in special circumstances (ICE) i can see its use, but if your brakes are set up right and in good condition, you have more control. being able to control it is also a factor. if you are a little more jumpy behind the wheel (no shame) or don't transfer weight when braking, keep it. no doubts about it. I've found after practicing with and without it in other vehicles you can stop FASTER without it. this takes some serious vehicle control. curves, bumps, incline, road surface, surface temp, tire temp, rain, etc all affect your vehicles capability to stop. keep this in mind before deciding. always, always, always know your limitations and the limitations of your vehicle before pushing the envelope.
