when I bought my 1992 240SX the motor was locked up...it had the SOHC engine in it.
I knew a guy that had a 1996 240SX with the DOHC engine (I don't think they came in SOHC...did they?)...but he took the motor out to do a SR20 swap and sold is motor to me.
My questions are:
1) Do I have to get a OE wiring harness for a DOHC or will mine work???
2) Can I still us my ECU???
sohc came only in 89-90. if your car currently has the sohc, you will need the harness and ecu from the dohc if you do the swap. its not really worth it in my opinion unless the dohc has a lot less mileage.
Your gonna need the complete harness, not just the motor harness b/c the Twin cam and the Single cam have different plugs when connecting to the rest of the harness along with the motor. So in other words, do what the good Kaptain said

the motor only has just over 50000 miles on it...think it's worth it???
also when I bought the motor I got just about everything needed to turbo it too...
na...it's one of those do it yourself projects, lol.
I don't remember how much the motor cost me...I know I bought it at the same time I got the car...with everything it was around $1500...I also got the tranny with the DOHC.
right now I'm not wanting to build the engine, I'm just wanting to get everything into the car and running right. Then when I finally do that I want to buy another DOHC and build that one, and when it's don't just swap everything over...
also...would anyone know where I could get a wiring harness and ECU cheap...
