wiring harness

ok...heres the deal.

when I bought my 1992 240SX the motor was locked up...it had the SOHC engine in it.
I knew a guy that had a 1996 240SX with the DOHC engine (I don't think they came in SOHC...did they?)...but he took the motor out to do a SR20 swap and sold is motor to me.
My questions are:
1) Do I have to get a OE wiring harness for a DOHC or will mine work???
2) Can I still us my ECU???

sohc came only in 89-90. if your car currently has the sohc, you will need the harness and ecu from the dohc if you do the swap. its not really worth it in my opinion unless the dohc has a lot less mileage.

Your gonna need the complete harness, not just the motor harness b/c the Twin cam and the Single cam have different plugs when connecting to the rest of the harness along with the motor. So in other words, do what the good Kaptain said

the motor only has just over 50000 miles on it...think it's worth it???
also when I bought the motor I got just about everything needed to turbo it too...

you should buy it, but keep it out of the car and turbo it. you wont need to rebuild because of the low mileage.

The KA already has a stout bottom end, but I'd at least get new pistons to drop the compression. Would the turbo kit be the GReddy kit?

I only asked about the GReddy kit b/c he said he got a 96 motor and the Greddy kit is specified for the 96-98 motors(OBD2).

na...it's one of those do it yourself projects, lol.

I don't remember how much the motor cost me...I know I bought it at the same time I got the car...with everything it was around $1500...I also got the tranny with the DOHC.

right now I'm not wanting to build the engine, I'm just wanting to get everything into the car and running right. Then when I finally do that I want to buy another DOHC and build that one, and when it's don't just swap everything over...

also...would anyone know where I could get a wiring harness and ECU cheap...

Jim Wolf said that to successfully turbo the KA you NEED to change the Pistons to lower the compression or things will go boom.

Just something I read, I've never turbo'd a KA.
