First off, I'm new here, I've been searching around in Computer Tech II for a few days now (cause my car is obviously more important than school). My situation is as follows...I live in the boonies of PA...surrounded by hicks w/ muscle cars and trucks, and I need a car that can kick some domestic ass w/out a problem. I have a '91 240 hatchback. I want to swap an SR20DET into it (suprise suprise). But my question is, should I buy a front clip from JGY customs in Virginia, or should I buy one of the engine swap kits that Heavythrottle.com/SRSwap.com has to offer...I'm doing the swap myself, so I'm looking for simplicity, and anyone in the area that would like to help w/ the swap when it comes time, don't be afraid, I need all the help I can get...
Sorry if this question was already asked and answered, but as I said, I've been searching around for a few days now and haven't found a post on this yet...
just go ahead and get a front clip. That's a no brainer question. You get everything you need with a front clip. (MAF, Igniter chips, and intercooler piping ) and since you might not be able to obtain these in an engine set, chances are you will spend more for a engine set that a front clip. I lucked up big time when I bought my sr20de. It actually came with the MAF...so if I was you, I would go with the front clip. It will save you a lot of trouble looking for the missing parts.

Basic Engine Swap Package

Here's what's in the engine kit for $4,995, the only thing I'm not sure of is if the wiring harness that comes w/ the engine will be pre-spliced for the swap, because that's my biggest worry is the wiring. Do you still think the front clip would be better? I can pick up a clip from JGY for like $3,100. Is it worth they extra 2 grand?

If you think you will kinda need a blueprint/guide of where things go and you are prone to loosing parts then I would go with the clip... Has everything you will or might even need. But if you think you can do it no prob then that engine kit sounds bad ass... Usually I would suggest a Clip over a motor set but the kit is more comeplete than the motor set... Its all your choice from here...

Not a bad price, heck if you got the money I'd go with the engine kit. Especially if they are gonna give you a greddy downpipe and fuel pump.
if you purchase a engine set from Heavythrottle, it comes with everything you need, no need to worry about missing parts, it comes with everything, just search their website, the clips is good yeah /:...you get frame( no need really)and maybe some goodies, and maybe a radiator(may be bent), plus Heavythrottle is reliable with the quality of their engine sets, they won't short change you or trick you, or anything like that. Engine set is worth the $2400. no need to pay extra for the clip, and also the Basic swap package is a great deal.
(when you order from Heavythrottle, they give help and tech support for the swap)
I've decided on the engine kit, due to the fact that all of the goodies that come with the kit are well worth the extra 2000...Also, I can just call Heavythrottle and double check on anything that would be missing that's needed for the swap... thanks for your input guys...
