ive got a 93 that now has the silvia front end on it and i think this is where are problems are.
problem - dash lights wont come on along with the climate control lights. all other dash functions work; all leds, turn signals, they all work, just no illumination. they used to work, but cant remember if they worked after the projectors were swapped in. im thinking that the motors for the headlights were part of the loop.
2nd problem. passenger auto shoulder belt works fine, drivers side stopped working.
so far - ive checked all fuses and have no bad ones anywhere, either under the dash or under the hood. i dont think its a turn signal/lights switch problem since everything works still.
maybe this helps? the clock is illuminated until the lights are turned on, then it goes dark. climate control lights work until the parking and headlights are turned on.
so, any ideas? point me in a direction and ill go. i usually can find these problems on my own, but im wondering if someone else has maybe had this problem after a silvia conversion as well.
i cant help you with your dash problems but about the seatbelt, im pretty sure nissan will fix it for free
there is supposedly a lifetime warranty on all electric seatbelts so its probably just a dead motor anyways. call them up and bitch and moan at the dealership if they dont automatically say its free

i asked my brother about the seatbelt and lights and he said they both stopped at the same time... does that help at all? to me that makes it sound like they are on the same circuit then....
ill ask about the seat belt fix thru the dealer and see what they can do about it. thanks.
how long has the belt stopped working, cuz i thought mine was broke(same thing, the passenger worked but driver didnt), but sometimes u have to have the door closed before you start your engine, or maybe its the other way around but i forget. sometimes it just wouldnt work, i dont know, but it works fine now.

how about reading the post. reading is fundamental.
hehe, paying attention is my job.
for the last couple hours ive been outside checking bulbs, relays, you name it, i probably looked at it today. i have found out so far, the belts will retract, but not extend. i forced them to extend and when i turned on the key, they retracted. still no dash lights even though i changed out any bulb in the dash today that i thought might have been bad. still no dash lights. the push button dimmer switch is bothering me though, i dont trust it.
We'll if you changed the headlights maybe it's time to start going through what you have done? Easyiest way to know is get a power indicator and see if your even getting power?? Now trace your ground? is it grounded to a good source?
This may sound stupid but if your dash lights are all the way dimmed and ur doing this during the day, did u play with the dimmer to see if you just can't see them on?
Clock work? If not time to pull that sheet out and start checking.
Seat belt they may do it for free, but if they found out u cut something or disconnected it yourself, your done, your gonna pay nissan charges $75 an hour.

yeah, that was the first thing i did. i went thru all of the connections and every thing looked to be in order. ground is good - checked and double checked it. i played with the dimmer for a while cuz i was thinking the same thing, but being push button and not rotary, it doesnt seem like youre doing anything. clock works fine and so does its back light. im really at a loss for what might be the problem. today im going to add power to the fuse for the panel and see what happens.
