I watched the 240sx race at a local autocross and was impressed with the platform and engine strength of the cars that were there so when a 90 s13 appeared in the paper for $400 I bought it rod knock and all. Now I am swapping in a KA24det out of a 97 that I found locally for $450. It has the ecu,wiring harness and all engine accessories. I have asked for the power steering lines, a/c lines and speedo/tach from the donor car is there anything else that I should get.

anyways.. 89-90 240sx came with ka24e (sohc). 91-98 240sx came with ka24de (both s13 and s14). if the guy told you that it was ka24det, that means.. #1 he took his 97 ka24de and slapped a turbo charger on it. or #2 he's BS.ing you. make sure you check it out so you don't get ripped.

Sorry olddog is up to his old tricks forgetting, missnaming. Can someone help me with this swap. I will see the donor car Saturday and what other parts should I take.
My Daughter is 20 years old. Changes her own oil and brakes. Complains that Daddy doesn't buy her better tires and really wanted a twin turbo. She dyes her hair red because it matches her personality.
where in cali? how many miles on the engine? thats a good price if it really is a turbo(which i doubt) or really expensive for a stock engine
that's not expensive for a a 97 KA at all. you can get better deals, but that's not expensive at all. people around me pay 700 for an old SOHC. go figure.
