ill borrow my buddies digital camera for some pics later.
but i found this in the paper, and i went to check it out.
year: 1989 240SX (not the SE, so i suppose its a XE?) transmission: 5-speed mileage: 127,000+/- (15 year old car = 8,500 miles per year average?) interior: charcoal (supremely nice inside! no holes, tears, nothing) color: red (very very oxidized, and the clear-coat seems to be onionskinning) audio: includes a Blaupunkt cassette deck mated to a 10-disc CD changer
<< onionskinning = the best word i can think of to describe what the paint looks like LMAO >

currently i own a 1992 SE-R, white. and im selling it to a friend who has offered for over a year to buy it from me, but, as my dream comes true (possibly)
i know that many of the classic SE-Rs suffer from a lost 5th gear. fortunately, that is not the case with mine.
what should i look out for when inspecting this 240?
How much are they selling it for? If it's a $1000 or less... take it.
aw shnap.
i forgot the price??
he is asking $1,300 for it.
buddy of mine here in town says that that is a good ash deal. specially with the low mileage. but the car is being sold by a friend of the car OWNER who left back home to Germany and we doubt he can go lower in price.
hhmm ... maybe willing?
il seeing it again Friday, this time, as promised, im taking my camera.
take it! Remember that these cars are becoming a rarity. Especially the ones in good condition. Interior parts are hard to come by, but paint can be done by anyone. Make sure you check for rust though. I can't emphasize that enough. That's the main killer of these cars besides kids drifting them into curbs and light poles. But at that price, you should still have enough for a swap and or paint depending on how much your getting for your SE-R. I'm hoping it's more than that anyways, haha. Good luck

i checked along the lower edges of the doors, trunk lid edge, muffler, under the hood the hinges show no signs of rust.
im gonna make a return visit on Friday.
visually inspect the rest of the car.
today i called him and he tells me, he has ONE other interested buyer who gave him $100 to hold the car for him. stupid ME, i shoulda gave him some little deposit too, eh?
