Well I'm going to start with Autocross with the SCCA Solo II and eventually build it to a Solo I or clubracing car. Going to a Solo II event at FedEx field in DC on the 14th. Not competing just going to see first hand what is all about. Still have to replace the muffler as it is too loud for Solo II. (over 95db at 50ft)

SR20DET, RB20DET, RB25DET, or Turbo the KA. Still saving the money and weighing the pro's and con's of each. LSD, Brake Upgrade, Lower stiffer springs, fully adjustable shocks, thicker sway bars, Roll cage, fire suppresion system, Racing Seats, 6 point Harness. Have to get it up to 350HP to be competitive in ClubRacing. It will all be a slow ongoing project.

Well best thing to do is go to the SCCA web site and go to the regional map and find your local region. They should have a link to their own SOLO II page. E mail them about their requirements for noise levels. Mostly its because SOLO II events are held in parking lots and they don't want to lose the locations because the locals are complaining about to much noise. I was thinking of one of those mufflers that comes with a silencer that you can remove.

Yea its a beginning. Close up the body is still pretty rough but mostly I just wanted to get the major dents out and get it all one color. A body kit and widebody fenders are in the works so I'm to worried about it as a lot of the damage will be covered up. I did put a new passenger door $150.00 and rear bumper $200.00 from a local salvage yard on it.

Widebody Fenders

Ah well if you DIY about 50 bucks. I bought dent puller and a body working hammer along with some experimental use of various crow bars and got most of the dent out then smoothed it with bondo. As this is a temporary fix for me as I will be putting on the WideBody fenders. Now if you know how to weld you can cut out the damage and braze in new metal then grind it smooth. As all my equipent is in texas that wasn't really an option for me. The Salvage yard would have sold me a whole cut-out rear 1/4 panel for $200.00 and the body shop about a thinks told me $500.00 to put it in. If you can remove the glass and weld in the new 1/4 panel then reseal the glass and trim yourself that might be an option for you.
