FYI How to get ECU codes

I bought the Chilton manual and it had the codes and modes listed including what the LED's are supposed to be doing in all five modes, but it didn't tell how to put it in those modes. Here is a website on how to change the modes in the ECU.

um I think there might be some copyright problems with doing that.

Mode one is the normal operating mode. Rev to 2000rpm and green led should flash at least 9 times and means O2 sensor is OK. Engine should be at normal operating tempeture.

Mode two hmm don't remember

Mode three is self diagnosis and is covered in the website above.

Mode four erases stored memory and detects when idle circiut is on with the red LCD and green should come on when you hit 12 mph checking the TPS

Mode five is a real time diagnosis so prosition the ECU at an angle where you can see the LED's while driving because it will detect the problems immediatly and does not store the results in memory. You should do this in a empty parking lot so you can stop and get the code

Does that manual tell you everything you need to know to take the engine out and put it back in so you can do the sr20det swap? Also does it tell you how to reset cam timing and spark timing as well as ajusting a/f over the rpm range or do you have to go to a dyno to do that?
