ive been looking around on the interent and some people have been saying that the rb20det was a bad motor, its old etc.. who has first hand experience with this? is the rb25det worth the extra money?

I am waiting for mine. RB20 ARE pretty old. I believe the last year they were produced was 1992. CA18 are old and people still swpa them. What is your budget. i chose the 20 because it is SOOO much cheaper. You cant go wrong either way. 25 just cost more to get running. Need a custom driveshaft. And it cost more

thanks for the info, i will go rb25 if i have the money, otherwise 92 isnt that bad, first year they made it was 86 i believe so thats the year i was thinking...where is a good place to find a clip (20 and 25)..i live in rochester NY, the closer the better i guess..

just make sure you get a silver rocker cover rb20det and you should be fine.

fj20s were made before ca18s and there still oen of the strongest motors around.

what does the silver rocker cover mean? later production?

i need to find a place that can get clips and just compare prices before i decide, but the 20 seems to look almost $1000 cheaper then the 25 so far
