Im in the process of modifying the front pod to hold a 6 1/2" speaker. I removed the pod, and put a pioneer 4 way in, just mounted to the door, but there is no enclosure so it dosent sound as good as it could.

Those 4x6's suck. Ill take some pics tonight after (if) I get it done.

they are 3x5's all around, at lest thats what was in my 90. just take out the molding that holds the speaker, and use it as a trace, and go buy some HD board about 3/8 to 1/4" thick and just make a panel to mont the speaker to. you should be able to use all the stock monting hardware from befor so dont loss it or you will have to get some new stuff. you can also get some sound matt to help clean up the sound. and the FB will only fit 3x5 in the back unless you make a custom incloser.

Yes, yes...I know Im the king of super ghetto rigs...but it works like a champ!

Here is the finished product. 1 screw and 3 zip ties.w00t

Next up are some views of the mounting pod for the 4x6's.

In this last one notice I cut that flange and made it bend so that the angle of the rear plate changed.

I used a hacksaw, heavy duty wire cutters, and a drill to drill holes once I got the speaker to mount in with clearance. Use your head and its really a snap. Total time was about 2 hrs. The first one is the hardest because I didnt know what to cut and had to keep taking it out, and putting it back in.
