Engine swap

I need a new engine for my 1989 S13 my friend told me to try SR20DET but will that fit in my car? if not whats a good engine to swap to i have stock but it has way to many miles and its got a Automatic transmission and i want a manual one.

boy, we do have a search function for a reason...
like trmn8r said, yes it will fit. there are other things youll need though as well.
i suggest you do some searching and try Heavy Throttle for a lot of the questions you dont find the answer to.

the sr20 is one of the main if not the main 1989 s13 engine swap

if you want to keep power steering, you'll have to buy all the PS parts for a DOHC KA. the SOHC KA lines do not work with SR's.

shit i just did my sr swap and just bought another one for my wife complete for a grand.
sr swaps are retardedly easy.

im with you, a couple years ago not many new of the sr swap so not many did it. but now since some people decided to do it they figured out that its not hard at all. sr's are not all that expensive but the price did go up . what is, is actually trying to buy a 240.

Looks like we're back to the SR <==> KA shoot-out. This is indeed getting

Both motors if properly built. good fuel management tools, and properly tuned can be very reliable and produce very impressive power levels.
