New to Nissans

Hello everyone, I'm not sure if this belonged in the "new member" area because it said tech questions should be posted where they belong. But anyways, I'm formerly a Honda Nut, i've owned a '93 integra, '93 civic si, '92 civic cx, and 2 accords. They got me into tuning and engine swaps, I was always all about all motor though, thats where many of my questions come from as i'll be going to turbo now. But now i have new plans and want to do something with a 240sx. I've read about all the different engine swaps available and decided the sr20det was the one i was going to go with. My goals are just for a reliable daily driver that does a high or mid 13 second quarter mile. I'm not all about drag racing or anything if anything i've been more interested in things like touge racing. But racing aside, fact of the matter is i want something that's gunna be quick and fun to rip ass on the street. I'm planning on the SR20DET with the following mods.

Greddy FMIC
Megan Racing Turbo Manifold
Nismo 555cc Injectors
Apexi Neo
Garrett 2871R Turbo
HKS Intake
HKS SSQV BOV
Buddy Club Pro Spec Exhaust
Walbro Fuel Pump

Is this sufficient for mid to high 13's? Or is that turbo a bit overkill? Am I able to get enough boost from the stock turbo with those mods? Will it be reliable? I guess my biggest fear is just going turbo altogether the only turbo cars i've seen are dsm's that break all the time... Thanks for any info and advice.

It looks like you're off to a good start with the list of components. The Garrett 2871R series can certainly get you 400 HP. however there are several versions of the 2871R; for additional info, go to the Garrett web site: Welcome to TurboByGarrett.com

If you're going to run around 400 HP, consider upgrading the motor with forged pistons for example.
