Hey guys, i am fairly new here and i am looking for a fairly inexpensive way to get more power from my non turbo KA24E, Also i live in canada so parts available from canadian websites or store will help but i will buy from other countries if need be
well, you can get more power with basic upgrades, like an intake, header, exhaust, etc., but it wont give you a lot. if you really want noticiable power, i would recommend turboing your car or doing a swap.
Well an intake, exhaust or some headers would be the easiest way to get a wee bit of power. Without doing a complete swap try doing all of that a turbo and some kind of ECU (stand alone is better, but you could also piggy-back it)
hey man look your new to this so you should just get an air intake system and an exhaust but if you are serious and know what your doing or have help or paying for installation you should go with a Greddy Kit they have one for the KA24DE I know you have a KA24DE but you can get a KA24DE for like 200-800 bucks. If you buy one for 600-800 it will be rebuilt but if you buy a stock no rebuilt one it will cost you less then $400. Oh yea this is US dollar price. Also many people go with the SR20DET swap which is a bit lighter and is factory turbocharged and a Japanese Silvia engine, JDM. If your going to do an engine swap you can get the SR20DET Redtop. Then with a few upgrades like FMIC, exhaust system, air intake. You will get about 250. Then if you upgrade to an electronic boost controller and a S15 turbo you will be at 320 and with more boost you will get more power. Oh yea dont boost the stock turbo more then 12psi and the S15 turbo more then 15psi. This is a great reliable set up for daily driving and racing. 320 hp is really fast in a 240SX because it is a light car compared to others. now if you stay with the KA24E you options will be limited because the motor is so old your better off swapping it for a KA24DE (which will give you a few more horses and then upgrade to a Greddy Kit) or an SR20DET. Most drifters prefer SR20DET because it give a more even balance of the cars weight.
