Unhappy My Stupid Speedometer...

I have a 92' 240 with a digital speedometer... it doesnt work... hasn't... is there anyway to fix it?

It could be a bad speed sensor that's mounted on the tranny.

Yeah I have seen posts up like this before and everyone always says check the sensor going to the tranny

Hmm.

Disconnect the battery, check if the alternator fuse is in good shape, if it isn't - replace it.

Then take your dash out and check to see if there are any loose connections to the digital speedometer.

But if it hasn't worked AT ALL for a while, then it could be the transmission sensor like cal40 and rogoman said, but it's pretty hard to DIY.

the speed sensor isn't too hard of a task. jack up the right side of your car since thats what side the sensor is on and USE JACK STANDS!!!! the sensor is the last one towards teh back of the tranny. it looks like a small round cylinder with a sire coming out of it. there will be a screw holding it in, so take it out. then you can remove the sensor from the transmission.

alright thanks guys ill do it on saturday and tell you how it goes oh and ive pulled the cluster out already theres no loose wires
