1990 240 power locks problem

OK, I come home from work today and I pull up next to my 240 in the drive way. I look over into the car to see that the radio along with the entire DIN kit has been ripped out!

I inspect around the car and find nothing else is missing, so I check the door locks. (cause I know I locked them last time I drove it.)

Here is the problem: When I press the lock button the doors lock, but when I close the door shut it unlocks again. When the door is open all is fine, It's just when I close the door the locks pop open. Anyone have any idea what may be the problem?

are they power locks? cuz if they are power locks, you should make sure that you can't open them again once you've closed the doors... but other than that... the best way to lock ur car is with the key

yea, their power locks. When the door is open I can lock the door with the key, but when its closed the key wont turn.

thats weird... I'm not sure then, cuz I had this problem but now i just lock it from the outside and its usually good...

WHEN YOU LOCK THE DOORS YOUR SUPPOSED TO HOLD THE HANDLE OPEN WHEN YOUR CLOSING THE DOOR. THEN RELEASE WHEN ITS CLOSED.

It's a courtesy thing first of all to make sure you don't lock your keys in your car as easily... Also... it's almost a fool proof way of making sure you check to make sure it's locked.

...Thanks guys. I wish I knew that sooner. For almost a year I've been leaving my car unlocked and didn't know.

I've havent been driving it much, it's my project car. (still buying mods and parts. She's going to be a 300-350rwhp beast!)
