Update 2
Update:
I got the car to the shop at the highschool so I can work on it. I had intended on doing the brakes first, but when I hopped in to start it, It wouldn't get any spark. I noticed that part of the ignitoin circuit on the harness was chafed and some wires had shorted. I respliced all the wires correctly and I'm pinpointing what sensor is friend and keeping it from getting spark. I have a 5 speed ecm ordered, a used working distributor and ignitor comming. The parts cost me 100 bucks alltogether, but its cheaper just to replace them all and it has to run, then to pay the dealer 500 and fix it.
I also got a set of 18's from the same guy I got the car from. He used them on his 240 for 2 months, but realized that if he was going to drift, 18s are expensive, so he's running his steel wheels for now. The rims and tires are brand new and i got them for 500 bucks.
I've got 1200 bucks in the car now, and it should be running by monday.
I finally sold my corolla, so I have a few hundred bucks to spend on parts. first on my list was brakes, so I bought a new booster, master cyl, brake pads and had the rotors turned. ive got 1350 in the car how it sits and I could drive it and it would be a nice driver, but i want some kind of performance.
I ordered a 3in stainless ebay catback for it for 170 bucks shipped. Not a bad deal at all. If I could afford it, I would get an HKS or GReddy exhaust, but working at taco bell doesn't cut it, so atleast ill get a catback of some kind instead of welding a generic muffler on there.
Now my total is at 1520. I'd like some suspension mods and maybe a little more performance to go along with it. I had intended on only spending 1500 on the car, but I got a sweet deal on the rims, so im bumping the total to 2000. I just wonder what else I should get with the 480 I have left.
I think I can get some springs, strut bars, header, testpipe and intake filter with what I have left. It will look like an all around fun car to drive that will turn some heads. I'll see how it turns out.
For now, I have to make sure it runs before I keep ordering parts.
