An odd, occasional, predictable weird behavior of my car - please help diagnose!
Hello board. I will update when I get that new Fuel Filter in there (as a member said, that may work wonders,) but I also have a post about something else that dod NOT go away with the new NGK plugs:
I at first thought this happened because I had in some Bosch Platinum+4 plugs - no longer in there... If I am driving my car, it runs in the manner I described in my last post. of course, when coming to where I was going, I turn the car off. Most of the time, I will come back in like 5 minutes (or 20,) and the engine will start right up again. I find, however, that if i take the car on the highway and do my usual 65-75MPH (I no longer speed, I can't fund the government with my tickets and license!) and then get back into town, I'll turn the car off... and THEN, sometimes, the car will "start" and die. I say "start" because the ignition turns over about 3 times, it will rev up to not more than 1000RPM, and then die. SOMETIMES (I hope this is a clue,) when I stand on the gas Pedal during this first sign of life, it will rev and stay running. Sometimes, though (as with yesterday,) for like a whole 45 minutes after the car came to a rest - 45 minutes after my 1st attempt when this happened, it has happened before, title of this post... it simply won't work!
Almost seems as if it is "waiting" for something. Maybe not, but my 1992 Pontiac grand Am 4-cyl. (auto) used to do this, and I lost that car before I ever found out what the issue was. Someone suspected some type of "overheating ignition" on that, but this isn't the Grand Am... it's simply acting the same way, and it will start fine Cold, and sometimes barely start and sometimes NOT start "Hot".
What does this sound like? *And please note, I will update the board on how the car behaves in all matters when i get this Fuel Filter switched for a new one, but until then I'm reporting what it's doing to know the most I can, and do the right procedures to keep my car being so good to me, and not kill it.
