Thanks. ya you are probably right. I'm hoping not to spend too much on upgrades...but there is always that old wore out engine that needs rebuilding, clutch, and on and on. The classes that I've chosen require me to leave most everything stock, however i know i'm gona want that engine and tranny running as perfect as possible. The mods I've chosen using NASA's online classifier are as follows:
Your car: Nissan 240SX DOHC Start Over
Your base class is TTF.
Your mods are as follows:
DOT-approved R-compound "tread" tires (ex. Toyo RA-1, etc) for 5 points.
Tire width increased from OEM by : more than 31 mm for 2 points.
Air conditioning and condenser removal only.
*Replacement pulleys (other than for supercharger) for 1 point.
*Modification of the OEM air box, air filter location, air piping to the turbo/supercharger/throttle body/carburetor for 1 point.
*Non-OEM or modified complete exhaust system downstream from the header, exhaust manifold, or turbo. (does not include catalytic converter removal/upgrade) for 2 points.
*Non-OEM or modified coil springs, leaf springs, or torsion bars for 2 points.
*Non-OEM adjustable shocks/struts for 4 points.
*Add, replace, remove, or modify anti-roll bars ("sway" bars- front, rear, or both - may *have spherical joints and polyurethane bushings on the end links) for 2 points.
Your 19 modification points puts you in TTF.
I may change things here and there depending on what I find in my research. My focus will be on the suspension, so i'm thinking the points toward the pulley and downpipe might be better used elsewhere. Anything more than 19 points will put me in the next class.
